I was hired by Surfline to cover the first two Nelscott Reef tow-in events. Nelscott is a reef about a mile offshore the beach in Oregon that produces some massive surf. The scariest part is actually getting out there - it requires a gut-wrenching jet-ski-powered battle through a vicious inside shore pound with no channels. I was the only photographer that shot from the water that day. This is of my good friend 'Frog,' charging it.
