I have surfed some pretty big waves in my life, and at one point even would have called myself a big wave surfer. But where the sport has gone over the past decade has blown most people's minds. As you can see from this collection of photos, big waves are both beautiful and scary. Hats off to the hellmen that tame these beasts - I don't have it in me anymore.
